CALL 911 FOR EMERGENCIES
Cedar Mountain Service District is a
Special Service District, established by resolution of Kane County in 1995 to provide Fire and EMS services under the provisions of Utah's Special Service District Act, Utah Code Title 17D, Chapter 1.

Special Service Districts provide municipal-type services to unincorporated areas of the County and may impose fees for their services.
In 2004, Kane County authorized CMSD to provide Snow Removal and in 2021 the County authorized Dust Suppression.
While the County authorizes services, as a Special Service District we are self-governed and independently managed. CMSD receives our revenue from fees to District members. Lot owners are assessed fees for Fire/EMS, Snow Removal and Dust Control. In addition, the District generates revenue by deploying wildland firefighters throughout the State and West, and bills for EMS transport services.
The District boundaries include 94 square miles of Federal, State and private lands north and south of Hwy 14 from the Iron County line to Hwy 89.
