Snow Removal & Dust Control

Snow Removal

Snow removal enables emergency access to our community in the Winter. It is a time consuming and dangerous process, often being performed during blizzard conditions or after dark.

Primary roads in the subdivisions are cleared first, with secondary roads the next priority. Then the roads are widened and fire hydrants are cleared of snow.

Please follow these guidelines to help make the snow removal process more efficient and safer for all:

  • Do not park vehicles on the road! They may be ticketed and towed.
  • Do not push snow from your driveway into the roadway, your neighbor’s driveway or in front of fire hydrants.

Dust Control

In 2022, Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District provided treatment on subdivision roads to mitigate dust health and safety issues.   Please practice safe driving:

  • Drive slowly through subdivisions, which generally observe a 15-25 MPH speed limit.
  •  Drive on the right side of the road.
  • Be alert to oncoming or stopped traffic.
  • Slow down on blind curves and dips or crests of roadways.

Winter Driving Conditions

Winter is here and the subdivision roads are covered in snow. The snow banks are tall, hindering your ability to see other cars, snowmobiles, pedestrians, etc.

Please drive slowly and beware that the road edges can often be soft, resulting in a loss of traction or getting stuck.

  • Watch the weather and plan accordingly as snow removal of our District roads may not accommodate your plans to leave or access your property.
  • Snow removal personnel are NOT allowed to assist motorists who are stuck.
